Weiss Hall - Center for Workforce Development

Construction is well underway of a nearly 90,000 square-foot center for workforce development, applied research and outreach, located on the 300 block of Madison Avenue. 

The four-story building will include specialized laboratories, training and education spaces and will be home to two academic departments, student health and wellness. Construction is expected to be completed in the summer of 2025.

The University ranked 24th in Best Science Lab Facilities and 21st in Most Engaged in Community Service, in addition to being selected as one of the 391 Best Colleges overall.

The University of Scranton’s state-of-the-art laboratories achieved national recognition in the Princeton Review’s Best 391 Colleges 2026 guidebook, released Aug. 12. The University ranked 24th in Best Science Lab Facilities and 21st in Most Engaged in Community Service, in addition to being selected as one of the 391 Best Colleges overall.

In addition to making the prestigious 391 Best Colleges list, Scranton ranked top-25 nationally for community service and science labs.
